About the role
We’re looking for a passionate Data Management leader to ensure our business and customer data needs are effectively defined and managed.
In this role, you will combine data management best practice with our rich subject matter expertise to lead a team of data management professionals in the ongoing development of our data assets and management capabilities. And you will work closely with senior stakeholders to inform investment decisions and prioritise project demand.
You will lead the development of our data roadmap ensuring our data remains informed by customer need and retains competitive advantage. And you will be accountable for developing our data management profession and practices, growing and supporting a pipeline of expertise within the team and across OS.
The successful candidate will lead the Data Management team to:
Deliver effective data stewardship from capture through to publication, ensuring that both customer and business requirements are met alongside retaining and developing market leadership and competitive advantage in our data assets
Work with customers and propositions teams to translate customer needs into data requirements and collaborate closely with colleagues in other parts of the business to ensure a coherent approach across OS.
Lead the definition and prioritisation of backlogs and specifications for data inputs to OS products.
Define and implement processes to ensure that data is managed and documented effectively throughout the data lifecycle.
Establish effective external relationships with other data management professionals and bodies to ensure that OS remains up to date with emerging trends in data management best practice, and compliant with regulation.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced Data Management leader with the following key skills and experience:
Degree level qualification in a quantitative discipline or significant experience in a relevant field
Experience in managing a data centric team
Experience of data management leadership and specification development gained within a large data environment
Strong customer / competitor focus, presentation and consultancy skills
Knowledge of geospatial data usage and use cases
