Role Summary

• Lead the Board of National Highways.
• Help manage England’s main roads.
• Work up to two days each week.
• Start in Spring 2027 after checks.
• Term lasts for three years, may continue longer.

Skills and Experience

• Experience as a leader at Board or Chair level.
• Good judgement and strong communication skills.
• Able to make decisions in difficult situations.
• Understand how organisations are run well.
• Confidence to guide and challenge the Executive team.

Location and Workplace

• Flexible location.
• Must travel to London and other places in England sometimes.
