Role summary

You will be the Director of People at the National Trust.
You will help lead the organisation and its people.
The National Trust cares for nature, beauty, and history in the UK.
You will help build a great team culture and strong leaders.
You will work to support 14,000 staff and 45,000 volunteers.

Key tasks

Lead teams that handle people services, volunteering, and legal matters.
Help shape the culture and work environment.
Support decisions at the top level of the organisation.
Make sure staff and volunteers can do their best work.
Work with other leaders to deliver goals for nature and heritage.

Skills and experience

You have leadership experience in big, complex organisations.
You know about people strategy and organisational development.
You have led big changes in organisations before.
You can advise boards and senior leaders.
You can lead teams through change and difficult times.
You understand business and financial matters.
You care about equality, diversity and inclusion.
You like working in organisations that do good for society.

Pay and hours

Flexible working location with travel needed.
Work at home, National Trust offices in Swindon or London, and other sites.
Expect to spend 40% to 60% of your time at National Trust sites.

Location and workplace

You can work from different places across the UK.
You will travel regularly to the Swindon and London offices.
You will visit National Trust places as part of your work.
