Role summary

You will be a Lay Council member for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
The Council makes important decisions and plans for the HCPC.
You may also chair the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.
Your job is to help guide the HCPC and make sure it works well.
This role helps protect the public and improve health and care services.

Key tasks

Attend about 30 days of work each year.
Go to Council meetings in London and committee meetings online.
Help make strategic decisions and give ideas.
Check that risks are managed properly.
Ensure the HCPC follows its rules and stays open and honest.

Skills and experience

Experience making group decisions.
Good at working well with others.
Support fairness, equality, and protecting the public.
Know about money and finance.
Have an accountancy qualification is a plus.

Pay and hours

Work about 30 days per year.
Details about payment are given when you apply.

Location and workplace

Council meetings are in London.
Committee meetings are mostly held online.
