Role summary

The National Data Guardian (NDG) helps keep health and care data safe.
They make sure data is used properly to help patients and the public.
The NDG works with government, health, and care organisations.
This is an important job that leads changes in how data is used.

Key tasks

Give advice about using and protecting health and care data.
Make sure data is kept private and secure.
Work with leaders from different parts of health and care.
Help shape rules and policies on data use in England.

Skills and experience

Experience working with sensitive health data safely and fairly.
Good understanding of new health technologies.
Able to make good decisions and work independently.
Strong communication skills to talk with patients and leaders.
A respected leader who can work with many different people.

Pay and hours

Salary is £63,000 per year.
Work is about 3.5 days each week.
Appointment can last up to 3 years.

Location and workplace

The role is based in England.
You will work with many organisations across the country.
