Asbestos Officer (Fixed Term)

Role summary

You will help manage asbestos in council buildings.
Your job is to keep buildings safe and follow the law.
You will work with a small team and use data to track asbestos.
You will check buildings and suggest how to improve asbestos safety.

Key tasks

Visit and inspect buildings for asbestos safety.
Check asbestos labels and update them if needed.
Review and issue permits for asbestos work.
Help with contracts and health and safety checks.
Move asbestos data to a new computer system.
Look at old data and find missing information.
Write reports and share findings with your team.

Skills and experience

Experience with asbestos surveys and management.
Know about health and safety laws, like CDM Regulations 2015.
Good at working with complex data and IT systems.
Able to work alone and with a team.
Good writer and presenter.
Have a asbestos surveying certificate (BOHS P402 or similar).
Nice to have a health and safety certificate (NEBOSH or similar).

Pay and hours

Salary is £42,912 to £46,854 per year.
Your pay depends on your experience.
You will work 36 hours each week.
This is a temporary job for up to 12 months.

Work at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London.
