Role summary

You will be the Principal Data Architect at Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
This is a senior job leading how technology helps protect and improve Wales’s environment.
You will guide how digital systems are planned and used in NRW.
You will help plan big projects and make sure spending is good value.

Key tasks

Work closely with leaders and teams to guide technology choices.
Set rules and standards for good, joined-up digital services.
Work with partners, other organisations, and suppliers to share data safely.
Manage one Lead Data Engineer and guide other technology experts.
Help choose and influence big technology products so they meet NRW’s needs.
Support digital services from ideas to being live and working well.

Skills and experience

You need to be an experienced technical leader in data and digital systems.
You must be confident working with different teams and external partners.
You should understand how to balance risks, opportunities, and costs well.

Location and workplace

You will work from an NRW office in South Wales.
NRW supports flexible working with some days working from home.
Face-to-face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
