In this role, you will:

- identify opportunities and promote best practice in the delivery of infrastructure and built environment projects
ensure opportunities for partnership working are developed across Sustrans Northern Ireland and in partnership with other organisations.
- This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans in Northern Ireland to maximise the increased investment in active travel and scale up the impact and delivery of our work.

Network Development underpins Sustrans' Paths for Everyone priority to deliver the National Cycle Network (NCN). The NCN is one of Sustrans’ most important initiatives across the UK and involves the delivery of active travel infrastructure in collaboration with a range of key partners. As part of Network Development, you will play a key role in supporting local authorities in planning and delivering greenways.

You will also build the case for, and lead on the development, management and delivery of, projects to improve the built environment. This may include School Streets and other traffic reduction measures as well as projects that support our Liveable Cities and Towns strategic priority such as active travel masterplans and working in partnership with consultancy partners in the delivery of the Department for Infrastructure’s Strategic Transport Planning and Modelling Framework.

Building and maintaining close relationships with key partners such as Department for Infrastructure, local authorities, Department for Communities, Translink and other key partners is key to sell our vision, influence and deliver active travel in Northern Ireland.

We offer true hybrid working with the opportunity to work from home part of the time and some in one of our offices in Belfast or Derry~Londonderry. This role will require some travel across Northern Ireland as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. There may be potential for some travel to Great Britain or the Republic of Ireland.
