As the Active Travel Officer, you will be innovating, developing and delivering tailor-made packages of activities and promotional material to encourage and enable active travel. This could include:

- mapping safe routes
- leading rides and walks
- delivering cycle skills sessions
- putting on Dr Bikes
- running incentive schemes, competitions and information events.

You will work in close partnership with Wiltshire Council to keep up to date with the latest cycling and walking infrastructure developments and link in with national campaigns and initiatives. This will help to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to benefit from the project and more local journeys can be made actively.

Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required.

About you

You will be passionate about active travel and supporting and motivating others to make positive changes to everyday journeys to benefit themselves, their local community and the environment.

You will be self-motivated and able to work independently to manage a varied workload.

You should have experience in building relationships with wide range of organisations, groups and individuals, including young people.

You'll have experience in planning and delivering engagement activities and promotional events. Ideally, you will have worked on physical activity or behaviour change projects.

You will be a skilled communicator, able to adapt your approach to engage and meet the needs of diverse audiences.

We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.
