About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ordnance Survey for a Multimedia Specialist to play a key role in the Content and Newsroom team. We’re looking to grow our multimedia presence and elevate its performance; and need you to help us do this. So, if you’re a skilled and ambitious camera operator and editor we’d be keen to hear from you!
You will work within the Content and Newsroom team to create and deliver high quality video, audio and animated content. With a passion for telling engaging stories to showcase OS's unique work - from the tiniest detail of a data algorithm to an ultimate outdoor challenge.
The role will report to OS's Multimedia Manager supporting all areas of the organisation delivering content for internal and external audiences. The new role will play a vital role in delivering OS's vision and purpose. You will work closely with a range of people and teams from across OS including the three key business units covering consumer, business and government markets, as well as supporting the Internal Communications team.
What we’re looking for
With a clear passion for, and expertise in, multimedia production, you are a skilled camera operator and editor who has strong ideas on how to tell a story clearly and concisely with your choice of words, pictures and sound. You will have experience in producing a range of video content to support customers and drive awareness. From social media clips and animations to large corporate projects and podcasts.
You have solid experience working with editing and production software – especially the Adobe Creative Suite.
You are comfortable working across teams and independently. With excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Above all, you are a self-starter who takes ownership for their own projects and tasks with the ability to work quickly and efficiently with an excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
Responsible for video editing, shooting, producing and delivering daily and weekly long and short form content, working closely with the multimedia lead
Evidence of strong visual skills and creative thinking ideas, concepts and how to tell stories through video and audio
Ability to work well under pressure, staying organised while working on multiple tasks and delivering to strict timescales/deadlines
Lead some projects from creation, scripting and storyboarding to shooting and editing.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Demonstrate skills in animation
Demonstrate strong video editing and filming skills
Has a high degree of organisational skills to administer archiving of projects
Proficient in filming/camera operating techniques, also audio and lighting.
Experience with DSLR cameras
Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and related applications in the Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge of file formats and video standard protocols (bitrate, frame size, frame rate, etc.)
Knowledge of all social media platforms and best practice for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube uploads
