British Gas has an exciting opportunity for a supply chain design lead to translate our supply chain vision into tangible capabilities and solutions. You will define and design initiatives that to improve the effectiveness of the current supply chain and ensure we are future ready for new propositions and the Net Zero agenda. You will be detail oriented and work across

 multiple initiatives, spending time with stakeholders across all business functions identifying pain points and opportunities.

This is a Home Based role but you may need to travel occasionally for meetings.

The Role

 * 

Work across multiple initiatives, spending time with stakeholders across all business functions identifying pain points and opportunities.
 * 

Responsible, at a project level, for baselining current activities, articulating business needs, designing and implementing new processes, organisational structures and ways of working, as well as providing continuous improvement support to supply chain operations.
 * 

Conduct analysis using structured techniques and pragmatic application of best practice standards to define business problems, identify potential solution options and associated evaluation criteria
 * 

Conduct full end-to-end review of supply chain activities and business processes, mapping and modelling to identify improvement 
op
portunities and drive system and solution requirements, documenting As-Is and To-Be states.
 * 

Work with the Head of Transformation to understand market best practices and how these could be applied to the Centrica supply chain to drive effectiveness
 * 

Use Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to define and size opportunity areas and drive improvements with the Supply Chain and Field operations teams.
 * 

Hands on leadership of business improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The Person

 * 

Naturally detailed oriented, inquisitive and prepared to build a deep knowledge and understanding of the Centrica supply chain
 * 

Strong analytical skills combined with an understanding of how business functions operate
 * 

Demonstrable experience of Business improvement and design (lean, six sigma, others.)
 * 

Experience in business analysis, continuous improvement or process design disciplines is essential
 * 

Qualitative and 
quan
titative analysis skills and the use of Excel, Power BI, Visio, PowerPoint
 * 

Functional Knowledge of supply chain and procurement desirable
 * 

Pragmatic and gets stuck in when needed, whatever the task to be done
 * 

Demonstrates learning agility to continuously improve and adapt, with a passion for learning more about the Supply Chain, particularly in British Gas, to become a recognised Subject Matter Expert.
 * 

Comfortable with ambiguity and able to forge a path forward without knowing every detail
