About this role

The role of the Financial Services (FS) team is to help BT conduct its business in full compliance with all applicable national and international laws and regulations, as well as internal codes of conduct, policies, standards and procedures.

The FS Senior Specialist (Advisory and Policy) is charged with delivering a comprehensive and ongoing FS compliance advice service across BT to support us to remain compliant, call out risks and concerns regarding the effectiveness of the appropriate BT controls and areas for improvement.

In this role you will play a key part in explaining the required standard of operation for FS controls within the business and advising on required improvement and remediation.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Recommend policies and standards for FS Compliance to the Director
Recommend pan-BT minimum mandatory requirements of FS compliance obligations and possible risk areas in Consumer FS
Inputs into business strategy for Consumer and partially Enterprise
Inputs into recommends on Group Compliance strategy with FS expertise
Provide clear and simply articulated financial services and compliance advice on required operating controls
Drive and oversee Thematic Reviews to identify gaps in Systems and Controls
Manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and work with them to ensure FS regulatory thresholds are not breached
Input to the production of papers for quarterly ARCs and other governance committees
Maintain knowledge of your specialism and provide forward looking insights and thought-leadership
Statutory responsibilities and day to day liaison with FCA and other relevant authorities including all standard reporting etc.
Provide specialist advice FS control operation as well as coaching, communication and training events to high risk communities, to enhance first line knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance
You'll have the following skills & experience

Transformation or change management experience
Extensive Governance/controls experience and knowledge
Experience in a senior level advisory position
Expert functional knowledge of FCA and CCA
Recognised compliance qualification (ICA etc) or demonstration of working towards one
Preferably experience in consumer facing industries operating consumer credit
