Job Description


This position is primarily responsible for trafficking and optimising campaigns across all direct display for the Mail Metro Media websites and apps (excluding North America & Australia). The Ad Ops Specialist will serve as a critical role in the management and optimisation of Direct Response and Programmatic campaigns with the primary objective of exceeding client expectations for the performance of their marketing budgets on Mailonline, Metro and inews.

The team regularly interact with the Sales teams who manage clients' overall expectations and campaigns across all the portfolio of products. The team also provide regular feedback to the Media Buying team on the quality of publisher inventory and data, and in collaboration with the Yield Management team, on how media buying efforts may improve campaign performance.

Key responsibilities:

Trafficking all direct display campaigns
Campaign planning and delivery management with the objective of reaching client ROI goals
Assess data available to make performance based decisions on media and campaign optimisation
Assess the campaign objectives and if required request more information to effectively optimise the campaign
Analyse the designated campaigns on the Sites ensuring optimum delivery and allocation of impressions between campaigns.
Review and use the appropriate tools and data available for campaign optimisation
Provide 'technical expertise,' needing to communicate with the client to explain campaign progress and address any blocking issues
Offer consultative ideas to the Sales team to help them with pitching new business, improving campaign performance and maintaining client relationships
Provide support and cover to other traffickers in times of heavy workload and/or holiday cover
Provide information regarding availability of inventory and alternatives to the use of that inventory
Experience in campaign optimization including cost per engagements and improving performance of campaigns with several variables
If required supporting the team out of office hours

Good with detail and accuracy of reporting
Experience required:

Must have worked within an online ad trafficking or campaign management environment
Ideally some experience gained in a programmatic or Direct Response (DR) environment
Solid understanding of online sales metrics
Knowledge of rich media suppliers necessary e.g. Celtra, Sizmek, Doubleclick, Flashtalking
Strong, intuitive analytical skills a must
HTML/Javascript and troubleshooting skills a bonus
Computer literate
