Job Description


Working closely with our HR and Employee Experience teams, to determine the
business requirements, and our Early Careers Consultants, to ensure
alignment to our wider Talent strategy, the Apprenticeship Manager will
develop, implement and oversee the Apprenticeship strategy and its
performance across Centrica.

What will you be up to and accountable for?

 * Develop and implement the Centrica Apprenticeship strategy, supporting
our capability agenda and proactively identifying opportunities to integrate
Apprenticeships as a development route for our employees
 * Identify and manage internal and Senior Stakeholders to support key
decisions that support the strategy and enable the business to perform
 * Matrix manage the planned activities of an internal team who support the
planning, development, delivery, administration/data/funding and governance
of Apprenticeships
 * Leverage external insight to identify and manage external partners to
deliver the required Apprenticeship programmes, ensuring key outcomes in
regard to quality and experience are met 
 * Provide ongoing insight on the performance of our Apprenticeship
programmes, including our apprentices, regulatory requirements, and levy
 * Deliver the required communication and engagement strategy to drive
participation in our Apprenticeships and a deeper awareness and
understanding for those key roles that enable our Apprentices to be
 * Identify and pursuit opportunities to integrate Apprenticeships into
Centrica’s development offer
 * Manage external groups, such as IFA and EFSA, to build a comprehensive
view of the external landscape and proactively build networks to ensure we
have a view of best practice both within and outside of Centrica
 * Represent Centrica at applicable external events 
 * Lead Centrica’s Ofsted ready plans to ensure compliance of the
Ofsted Framework and ESFA requirements to maintain our Employer Provider

To be successful in this role you will have the following

 * Demonstrable experience of defining and implementing Apprenticeship
strategies that are measurable towards business performance
 * Experience of managing a broad and diverse Apprenticeship portfolio,
including both internal and external suppliers
 * A working knowledge of Ofsted and ESFA requirements relating to
Apprenticeships, Functional Skills and End Point Assessment. Preferably
experience of working in a similar role where the organisation held
Apprenticeship Provider Status.
 * Experience of managing large scale development programmes and senior
stakeholders within a matrix structure
 * A broader understanding of the Talent agenda and typical development
pathways, such as Graduates, Interns
 * A proven collaborator with the ability to influence senior management.
 * A track record of supporting business leaders to identify, develop and
deploy capability solutions
 * Comfortable using data to drive insight and decision making
 * Excellent communication and relationship management skills
 * Comfortable and productive in ambiguity. Pro-active, resilient, motivated
and results oriented
 * Proven experience delivering projects within a large complex matrixed
 * CIPD/MCIPD is desirable but not essential 
 * A programme / project management qualification is desirable
