Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home!

At Home Group it’s critical we continue to deliver services for our customers during the COVID-19 outbreak, and our awesome colleagues are at the very heart of making that happen. We need Brilliant People like you to join us (and not just during this challenging time). We are doing things a little differently at the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe we’ll engage with you digitally where possible.

We would like you to join our fab and supportive team. Our Devon Enhanced Community Recovery Service is based across different locations within Exeter & Torquay. We support the recovery of our customers, who are generally over 18 years old, and help them to gain independence within the community and to build on the support networks and skills to live fulfilling lives.

Our service provides a person centered support package that supports customers in their own living environments, to learn and develop life skills, manage their own risks and outcomes with the aim being for them to move on to more independent living. Our customers are unique, and very different in their own ways and in how we support them, but they all have varying mental health support needs! As a Supported Living Coordinator, you'll be supporting our clients in their home offering emotional and mental support. Our customers live in a 5 bedroomed detached house in Exeter.

You’ll help our customers identify their aspirations, and work with them to create plans that help them achieve these. You also help your colleagues to deliver on the plans you’ve created to achieve excellence. Our aim is to support our customers to live their day to day lives as independently as possible. The team will tell you that no two days (or nights) are ever the same because everything we do is “person centred”, around the needs of our customers.

About our team
Our team describe themselves as really friendly and approachable. In fact, when new members have joined us in the past, it’s been said that they felt welcomed by colleagues and our customers from day one! We’re also super passionate about supporting customers our team are tight and really have each other's backs, even though we are split across different locations. Many of our team have progressed their careers within Home Group. Becky our Registered Manager has worked here for 6 years, and her, Adam and Geoff have all become managers, having started in other roles. Our Clinical Lead Ian has only been with us for a few years but loves the transition he has made to join us from the NHS. We are also investing in our team’s clinical knowledge and experience, so when you join us there is lots of scope for personal growth and development. But if you are happy doing your own thing then that is great too!

Working hours
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. There are two roles: in one role you’ll work daytime hours and in the other role you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights.

Bank
Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you
You’re passionate and motivated. To you providing care and support is more than just a job, you make every customer feel valued and respected. You’re compassionate and use your unique empathy and creativity skills to help our customers reach their full potential. Treating your customers with integrity, you ensure that they maintain their dignity at all times.

You’ll help change our customer’s lives (and our services) for the better by undertaking risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. You’ll create bespoke and personalized support plans with and for your customers.  Each plan will look to meet our customer’s individual potential and long-term goals, making sure they meet safeguarding and confidentiality requirements. You’ll also have responsibility for coordinating our support workers, apprentices and volunteers, and working collaboratively with external agencies, to assess and engage support for our customers.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a community-based role, you’ll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! (We pay your expenses to cover this use!)

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
