Product Manager - Personal Current Accounts (Full-time or Part-time)

We’re excited to be recruiting for the role of Product Manager (Personal Current Accounts) to join our Retail Banking team on a full-time or part-time basis (minimun 0.8 FTE equivalent).

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Retail Banking, this role is responsible for our range of Personal Current Account products, including authorised overdraft and debit card. The role is responsible for all aspects of product management including monitoring and forecasting cashflow / customer / product performance, reviewing the market, proposing & developing the products and services including pricing, fees and charges to achieve targets. Responsibilities include:

MI and performance management

-Monitor and forecast performance of the Current account portfolio
-Analyse opportunities and threats internal and external impacting on targets e.g. understand market changes and the impact of these on the portfolio
-Undertake regular market and competitor analysis and identify gaps in our product offering
-Monitoring customer growth to understand customer segments, growth areas and opportunities to drive cross sell strategy
-Produce regular portfolio reporting as required including monthly CMT pack
Pricing

-Attend pricing committee meetings and present performance update on Personal Current account portfolio as required
-Through detailed analysis of relevant MI and data, recommend and present pricing proposals on personal current account products to achieve KPI’s. including margin, income and growth performance and to manage the book in accordance with our credit policy
-Recommend and implement pricing changes to reflect desired market position, margin, costs and profitability
Product Management

-Display a thorough understanding of the personal current account market, being able to identify new market opportunities for products and distribution, produce and present proposals and recommendations for product launch/change and manage the implementation of those changes
-Lead and manage product related developments to enhance the debit card proposition
-Work with Credit to ensure personal customer overdraft offering is managed within the banks credit policy, while also considering Vulnerable customer, responsible lending policies
-Understand the market and identify new market opportunities for products and distribution e.g. Youth accounts, Basic Bank Account and drive through changes where required
-Product owner for Payment services, ensuring we continue to stay abreast of industry and regulatory developments and that the payment and open banking services we offer continue to meet customer needs, making recommendations and implementing new and changes to payment services as necessary
-Product owner for Current Account Switch Services (CASS), ensuring Triodos is engaged with regulators and industry bodies in respect of CASS by attending industry meetings and workshops as appropriate. Ensuring Triodos CASS offering is compliant and any changes are scheduled and implemented
-Undertake annual product reviews for products in the portfolio, identify any risks, make appropriate recommendations to address these risks
-Ownership of all pre and post sales materials for Personal current account, including Terms & Conditions and application forms, including Personal Overdraft, ensuring these are kept up to date as required
-Active management of any back-book range within the current account portfolio
-Review new / changes to regulation and legislation and complete detailed analysis to determine the impact of the changes to the business. Make recommendations and work with UK compliance to implement change as necessary to ensure products and processes remain compliant
-Lead cross functional project teams and where appropriate work with the Retail Banking Proposition and Channel Manager & Domains to implement changes to products and services, including rate changes, regulatory changes and product enhancements
-Be a core member of the Domain team, attending cross-country domain meetings (increment meetings, Retro’s, Demo and Review meetings) as appropriate, championing UK change for prioritisation and delivery. Work with Business Analysts to produce value cases for epics on the Domain / change backlog
-Proactive approach to continuous improvement, working with customer experience and customer operations to champion and implement the best processes for customers and co-workers
Internal control and governance

-Apply risk assessment and management principles to assess compliance and operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, to pre-empt any issues and minimise or remove risks
-Ensure all relevant processes/procedures are followed and liaise with the Compliance and Operational Risk teams about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity
-Ensure that internal controls and governance are adhered to and followed and be able to demonstrate adherence to these by keeping appropriate records
-Comply with all regulatory obligations and internal governance to help ensure ethical behaviour which delivers fair outcomes for TBUK customers

The role holder will work with the Card Operations Manager to ensure the bank is up to date on card scheme changes & market developments. They will manage the development of product related changes to the Debit Card, Current Account Switch Service (CASS), Payment services, Credit and Fraud parameters, processes and policy.

It is desirable that this person has previous experience working in financial services product management including current account/cards and has a strong knowledge of the current account market and environment. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with customers, partners and networks from a wide variety of backgrounds inside and outside of the business. You will have a work history that demonstrates success in business and product development. Strong analytical skills are essential, with an ability to analyse and report on complex data for management information collation and analysis. It is important that the incumbent has an ability to present information confidently and can communicate effectively to large groups, influencing senior managers on development recommendations.
