Job Description

About the Role

Provides financial navigation, commercial decision-making support and challenge supporting delivery of the financial objectives as set out in the Annual Operating & Business Plan and beyond – FTC 18 months

Manages financial planning, accounting and reporting to a defined area of the business
Responsible for the integrity of financial performance reporting
Informal and formal forecasting including identifying and managing risk
Planning & budgeting
Provides clear and engaging business insight to numbers presented
Provide cover for other Business Partners and the areas of the business they support on an as needed basis
Supports commercial growth strategy through decision making ensuring there is rigorous assessment of financial and commercial implications, risk and opportunities, supported by financial analysis and challenge
Pro-actively reviews current activities ensuring the best possible return to OS
Drives comprehensive and robust business cases and analysis
Supports ad-hoc projects
Supports continuous improvement programmes across the organisation
Represents the Finance function as a highly professional and competent organisation and promotes best practice financial management.
Ensures business processes and controls comply with legislation standards and statutory audit requirements
Ability to talk fluidly at all levels across all aspects/areas of the unit supported and make financial decisions as needed
What we’re looking for:

Appropriate Accounting qualification (i.e. CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified) or equivalent qualification
Knowledge of relevant financial systems e.g. SAP, Excel
Experience in business partnering or related area

Location: This role will be based at our state of the art Headquarters in Southampton, however due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, initial expectation will be working from home with occasional attendance at head office.
