Deputy Manager (Learning Disabilities)
Batley, West Yorkshire

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)
Salary circa £21,800 pa plus brilliant benefits!

On call shift payment of £14.30 per session

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team in our ‘good’ rated CQC registered service! You have a genuine passion to lead our services in delivering aspirational person centred housing related support. You’ll have overall responsibility for managing our services, which provide Supported Living for our customers who have learning disabilities, autism or physical health needs.  
Our customers live in a variety of settings including a 24/7 supported living service in Batley comprising 8 self-contained flats for our customers, an on-site office, communal kitchen and a lounge. Our service in Liversedge is a supported living house offering 3 bedrooms for our customers with a shared kitchen, a lounge and bathrooms.  You’ll also oversee our service which offers support to customers living in their own homes within the community.
We help our customers to become as independent as possible through 1:1 support packages agreed by Social Care. We provide personal care and medication administration where required, and support customers with all kinds of things from accessing community activities to attending health appointments to cooking meals and managing relationships.

About our teams
Your fabulous team are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrate their achievements.  To us we’re not just a team we’re a “work family”. There are 16 in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! 
You’ll work closely with our Registered Manager Karla, who’s worked with us for 8 years now. She’s passionate about personalised support and empowering customers’ choice and inclusion. Karla’s super supportive with customers and colleagues, she really is a legendary leader! In her spare time Karla enjoys eating out especially noodles, then curling up at home in her PJ’s watching Netflix with her family. She also enjoys making different flavoured cheese cakes and sharing this with her team, yum!  

You'll also join the wider Yorkshire management team and will work for our Operations Manager, Katina. Katina has worked for Home group for a huge 13 years and has been involved in these services since they began almost 5 years ago so she knows a thing or two about supported living! When Katina’s not in work, she’s normally spending time with her family or absorbed in a good book, unless she’s off travelling somewhere in the world!

A bit about you
Leading a team of frontline support staff, you’ll help us deliver efficient, high quality, cost effective and customer centred services. You’ll help empower our customers to live independently and make it a great place to work for our colleagues. As our team and safeguarding lead, you’ll ensure the high performance and quality assurance of our services using your experience and strong skills in effectively motivating and directing colleagues.  You’ll also monitor service performance against contractual targets and ensure that the service is visible and accessible to referring agencies and self-referring customers too.
To be awesome in this job, your key strengths will lie in people management and motivation, bringing colleagues together to share information and best practice. You’ll maintain strong professional relationships with your peers and their teams as well as external stakeholders.  We’ll be impressed with your passion for promoting independence and social inclusion through person centred support, as well as your focus on quality, efficiency and your ability to develop service provision in new and innovative ways.
You have an excellent working knowledge of “Housing and Care”, and Support Sectors, safeguarding processes and housing law.  You’re able to respond quickly and appropriately to emerging risks to individuals, teams or the contract and it’s also important that you have excellent communication skills, IT skills and strong analytical skills too.

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in a Supported Living, Supported Housing or Care Home environment before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help you to understand how things work at Home Group!
As this is a leadership based role, you’ll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! (We pay your expenses to cover this use!)
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
