Housing Management Co-ordinator

Permanent, Part Time (28 hpw)
Salary of £18,100 to £19,450 pa, pro rata
Plus brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

You’ll be working with Lucy and her small yet perfectly formed Housing Management Team throughout the Yorkshire region. You’ll provide a dedicated Housing Management service to customers with learning and physical disabilities and a Women's Service, which houses women and children fleeing from abusive relationships. Ideally you’ll have a flexible approach and your role will involve travel covering several sites in the region including working from our North Lincolnshire based sites. Great time management skills are essential to help you manage your day-to-day activities and ensure an excellent service is delivered to our customers.

The role is very varied and often fast paced. No two days are ever the same and the hours can fly by! A typical day could involve visiting properties to carry out Health & Safety compliance checks, carrying out assessments for potential new customers or a shopping trip to buy new furniture for a service. Another day you could find yourself working alongside our maintenance surveyors assisting with planned works or meeting an Occupational Therapist looking at adaptations in our properties. You’ll also help our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account.

You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy.

We place our customers at the very heart of our decision making to ensure that they live in a home that reflects hotel standards and meets their needs. This involves consultation with customers on a variety of topics and working within a budget. You could also find yourself representing Home Group at court for housing related matters, supported by our legal team.

All services are partnered with local support providers who are responsible for and are great at maximising the health and wellbeing of our customers. You will interact with them on a regular basis to ensure the customers’ needs are met and our client promise is fulfilled.

You will have the choice to be based at anyone of our local offices including Bradford, Leeds or Wetherby.

Customer quote
“Thank you for everything that you did for us. You have been amazing angels who looked after us daily.”

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team, who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a “work family”. Our manager is Lucy, who has worked for the organisation for 6 years in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region. There are 5 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Working hours
The hours worked will be flexible between Monday and Friday, (excluding bank holidays) to fit around service needs and your home life.  In addition, there will be opportunities in the future to pick up additional hours

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.  You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

As Housing Management Coordinator you’re experienced in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties. You know all about re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However we’re glad to support you, if you need help.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
