Training Courses

Disabilities Jobsite plays a leadership role in encouraging employers to implement strategies to ensure that employees with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in all learning activities. Examples of strategies include the following:

  • Working closely with providers of on-site training

  • Ensuring managers are offered disability specific courses, such as Disability Access Workshops, where managers are provided with information and skills to hire and supervise employees with disabilities

  • Working with providers of software and on-line training to ensure that all courses available to employees through the Intranet/Internet meet stringent standards of accessibility

  • Sponsoring a mentoring program and encouraging all employees to participate

  • Supporting a system that allows all employees the opportunity to develop new skills through details in other parts of the organization
