Disabilities Jobsite plays a leadership role in encouraging employers to implement strategies to ensure that employees with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in all learning activities. Examples of strategies include the following:
Working closely with providers of on-site training
Ensuring managers are offered disability specific courses, such as Disability Access Workshops, where managers are provided with information and skills to hire and supervise employees with disabilities
Working with providers of software and on-line training to ensure that all courses available to employees through the Intranet/Internet meet stringent standards of accessibility
Sponsoring a mentoring program and encouraging all employees to participate
Supporting a system that allows all employees the opportunity to develop new skills through details in other parts of the organization
